Care Club

Bongusta creates quality products that you’ll love for a long time. Here are some helpful tips on how to take good care of them.

Wool Rugs

Our handmade rugs (the tigers, the elephant, the cat, the snakes, the dragons, the flowers, etc.) are made of 100% wool and therefore cannot be washed. The wool in the rugs can shed. This is a normal process that occurs with natural fibre rugs, but will subside over time and after vacuuming. Any stains can be removed with a damp cloth. If extra thorough cleaning is required, we recommend dry-clean.

Chindi Rugs

Our Chindis Rug are woven by hand from leftover material primarily cotton, but other fibres may occur due to the nature of leftover fabric. Chindi rugs are best hand-washed cold without soap or detergent. No spin cycle and no tumble drying - only hang to air-dry. Must not be ironed nor dry-cleaned.
Follow these simple care instructions to ensure your Chindi Rug remains beautiful for years to come.

Naram

Naram Towels, Bathrobes, Ponchos and Bags are made from 100% combed cotton, certified by OEKO-TEX®. Combed cotton is a higher quality cotton, a silky material that is softer and retains colour better. We use double thread weaving and extra-long cotton fibres making the towel fabric absorbent, durable and soft. Team Bongusta has pre-washed all Naram products, however, we recommend you washing them before use.

Naram Towels, Bathrobes, Ponchos: Wash at max 60 degrees Celsius. Use minimal detergent and the towel fabric will last longer. Avoid fabric softeners as this may affect the natural absorbency of the fabric. Tumble-dry on low temperatures. This will help keep the towel fabric soft and fluffy.
If a loop/thread pulls free, cut it off at the base with sharp scissors. The double threads are secured on the back and will not run when you cut them. Leaving loose threads dangling can cause the towel fabric to unravel.

Naram Totebags and Weekend Bags: Wash at max 40 degrees Celsius. Use minimal detergent for a long last and soft feel. Avoid fabric softeners as this may affect the natural absorbency of the towel fabric. Tumble-dry on low temperatures and hang out to dry to preserve colour and fibres.
If a loop/thread pulls free, cut it off at the base with sharp scissors instead of pulling. The double threads are secured on the back and will not run when you cut them off. Leaving loose threads dangling can cause the fabric to unravel.

Naram shirts, pants and shorts are available in combed 100% organic cotton with a 300-gsm tight-weave, which is a slightly lighter quality than our towels, bathrobes and ponchos. Wash the clothes gently before using them at maximum 40 degrees Celsius. Avoid fabric softeners as this may affect the natural absorbency of the terry fabric. Hang to dry.

Quilts

The hand-quilting technique is a traditional craft that ensures a homemade look that Bongusta loves and highly appreciates. Due to the handmade quality, you must be very careful when cleaning the hand-quilted pillows and bed covers. Gently shake them outside in fresh air to get rid of potential dust. But in order to take care of the quilted Bongusta products as best as possible, we recommend that you have them cleaned professionally using dry-cleaning.

Pillows

Bongusta's cotton pillows the Papelain and Halo series, are suitable for washing. They're made from 100% poplin cotton and can be machine washed at 30 degrees C. All quilted pillows must be dry-cleaned only.
